1 .  The topic sentence is "Believe it or not, the process of completing a DNA test is not very difficult".

2 .  The four steps of DNA testing are:

a)First of all, human cells must be collected.  The cells can be collected from a person's cheek using a     swab.

     b) The next step is to send this cell sample to a laboratory.

     c) Then the samples are put into a gel mixture, and are subjected to an electric current.

     d) Each person produces a unique location of DNA attachment, and this is how the identification works.

3 .  Two transitional expressions that show a time relationship are  "ultimately" and "in just a few days".

4 .  The surprising information that is claimed in the last two sentences is that DNA testing has become very popular, and now is available on the Internet.  People can now order in-home DNA tests and get their results in just a few days.

DNA: The Easy Way

Believe it or not, the process of completing a DNA test is not very difficult.  First of all, human cells must be collected.  The cells can be collected from a person's cheek using a swab.  The next step is to send this cell sample to a laboratory, where scientists extract the DNA from the swab and create many samples from it.  Then the samples are put into a gel mixture, and are subjected to an electric current.  A DNA probe can then be used, which attaches itself to the sample.  Each person produces a unique location of DNA attachment, and this is how the identification works.  Ultimately, scientists develop the film of this unique DNA strand.  This type of DNA test becomes more reliable as more probes are used to test the strand.  DNA testing has become very popular, so it is now available on the Internet.  Ordinary people can now order in-home DNA tests and get their results in just a few days.

Answer the following questions:
1) What is the topic sentence of this paragraph?
2) How many steps make up the process of DNA testing? Which are they?
3) Write two transitional expressions that show a time relationship.
4) What surprising information is given in the last two sentences of the paragraph?

AIRPLANES

The invention which we are going to consider is airplane. The inventors of the first airplane were Orville and Wilbur Wright who makes the first succesful flight.Airplanes consist from many components.some of them are turbin engines, cochpit, wing fucelage . Moreover all the materials are made of metal and plastic.finally, airplane in order to work needs air.Air has power to push and pull the plane by two engines and wings.

1712 - Newcomen Steam Engine

In 1712, Thomas Newcomen together with John Calley built their first steam engine on top of a water filled mine shaft and used it to pump water out of the mine. The Newcomen steam engine was the predecessor to the Watt steam engine and it was one of the most interesting discoveries of technology developed during the 1700s. The invention of engines was very important to the industrial revolution.

Jet Man

This invention is commonly known as Jet Man.  It can be used by everyone who would like to live the ultimate experience of flying.  It consists of four small jet engines attached to his wings on his back.  The jet machines are made of a variety of metals and its wings are made of carbon fiber which is lighter and stronger than metal.  To fly with the Jet Man you need to jump out of a centain height approximetely at 2,440 metres, then you start the engines and you fly over a certain area. The flying time is about 13 minutes. When the fuels are out you open the parachute.

LASER SCISSORS

 smart10

This invention is called laser scissors. It Is for everyone who wants precise cutting in order to avoid any imperfections. It consists of a pair of scissors and a laser light which is made of plastic and stainless steel. You point the area you would like to cut and a red light keeps you in the direct line.

Azipod Propulsion System

Azipod propulsion system is the latest invention used in merchant shipping. The azipod consists of a pod and a propeller which hang outside the ship's hull and can rotate 306 degrees. This makes the ship more manouverable as it can rotate 360 degrees around itself very quickly. This system uses electric generators, thus it is more fuel efficient and it uses less space.
